We have some suggestions of our own.
If you stay 2 days in the park you can spend one day exploring the magnificent trail ridge road combined with the one way up Old Fall River Road. On your way starting from the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center you will find:
-some interesting stops and trails at lookouts for West Horseshoe Park where you will see the meandering Fall River,
-Lawn Lake Trail marked by an Alluvial Fan and place of a powerful water explosion back in 1982,
-a cute little waterfall named Chasm Falls,
-Chapin Pass,
-the Alpine Visitor Center with the remarkable Alpine Ridge Trail,
-Lava Cliffs where you might spot a couple of prairie falcons,
-Hidden Valley Overlook with wonderful views of the earlier named Alluvial fan and meandering Fall River.
Finally you will return at you starting point, the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center. Be aware that the driver of the car should not be afraid of heights. Otherwise you can take advantage of the wonderful shuttle bus transportation system the park offers.

On your second day you should take a guided horseback ride through the park. There are stables outside and in the park and riding a horse will give the most inexperienced rider unforgettable memories. Even kids from 5 year old are allowed to ride a horse. If there is some time left, follow the Bear Lake Road. This is a very popular tourist destination. A hidden gem on this road is a trail at Hollowell Park where with some luck you can see beavers at work. Ask for information at one of the parks visitor centers. From Bear Lake a network of trails leads to many other lakes with dreamy names such as Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, Emerald Lake and Lake Haiyaha.

The park has so much to offer even a week wouldn't be sufficient. Some other areas you could explore are the Wild Basin, Lilly Lake and the beautiful Kawuneeche Valley.
Wild Basin is located in the southeast corner of Rocky Mountain National Park. Numerous alpine lakes dot the area, with Thunder and Bluebird among the most dramatic in the park. Mountain peaks reaching over 13,000 feet (about 3850m) above sea level form a rock boundary on the north, south, and west sides of this high mountain valley. Bighorn sheep, mountain lions, bears, elk, mule deer, and many smaller mammals and birds live in the area.
Lily Lake is easily accessible and a great place to look for paedomorphic tiger salamanders in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Moose has become a favorite of visitors to the Kawuneeche Valley. Rangers at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center can often provide information on where moose have been recently seen.
