Check the Oregon Wild Website for information about hikes and outdoor trips. The expert staff of Oregon Wild will lead some of those outdoor adventures for free around the state throughout the year!
Enjoy a picnic from one of the overlooks in front of Wizard Island (West Rim Drive).
If you are not accompanied by young children and when you are in good health you might not want to miss the Volcano Boat Cruises (West Rim Drive).
Search for the "Phantom Ship" (East Rim Drive) and the "Old Man of the Lake". The first is a small island made of erosion-resistant lava, 400,000 years old (the oldest exposed rock within the caldera), the latter is a full-sized tree which is now a stump that has been bobbing vertically in the lake for over 100 years.
One of the park's trails, Castle Crest Wildflower Trail, is a designated stop along the Crater Lake Loop. This is a self-guided driving itinerary that includes 158 birding hotspots.
End your day with a fine meal at the Crater Lake Lodge while enjoying a fantastic view.
