Banff is a Park hardly to discribe. Beautiful to drive trough and so much to discover, it is Canada's first national park and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Park is divided into different areas: Banff area and the Lake Louise, Castle Junction and Icefields Parkway areas. From Banff to Lake Louise you can choose to drive the Trans-Canada Highway, but the Bow Valley Parkway offers even a more 'scenic' lane. So if you have some more time to spend, don't hesitate to try it out. When you arrive at Lake Louise, take a break and be amazed by her breathtaking beauty and visit the world famous Fairmont Château.

As a massive wildlife crossing point you can view the largest numbers in the world of al kind of wildlife. Today 41 crossing structures are being used to let safely cross bears, elk, cougar and others from one side of the highway to the other and to prevent collisions with traffic. Get of the highway and go for a hike. From a self-guided interpretive trail to a real backpacking adventure, there is something for everyone to enjoy. For a great overview of Banff's trails, visit the trailpeak website and choose Alberta ('Trail Location') and Banff ('Near City').
