The mission at Hebron was one of several built by the Moravians (the Church of the Brethren) in 1829.
It was the northernmost settlement in Labrador.
It provided religious instruction to the local Inuit and was also an educational, commercial and medical centre.
This mission closed in 1959.

Torngat Mountains Base Camp and Research Station in Saglek Bay Labrador can be used as a gateway to Torngat Mountains National Park and Hebron National Historic Site. Transportation to the Base Camp is by chartered longliner from Saglek, which is accessible by air from Goose Bay, Nain, and points in northern Quebec (Kangiqsualujjuaq and Kuujjuaq).
