Originally built at the Forks of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers in 1810, Fort Gibraltar was a North West Company fur trade post that also helped control the pemmican trad.
Today, the major purpose of Fort Gibraltar is to reflect key elements of life in the Red River valley from 1815 to 1821.
In February you can visit the exquisite snow sculptures on the site during the 'Festival du Voyageur', Western Canada's largest winter festival.
